Education at Truman takes place in traditional classrooms, virtual classrooms, by way of electronic messages, and via a whole host of other engagement opportunities including student/staff relationships.  By serving as a resource to expand and explore the pedagogical efficacy of new as well as tried-and-true instructional technologies, the Learning Technologies Team (LTT) endeavors to aid the already rich learning environment of Truman's classes.

Consultation

*Please note that phone calls and emails to the Learning Technologies Team may take a minimum of 24 hours response time as we are frequently in faculty consultations or teaching workshops and may not be immediately available.*

Diane Richmond, Director of Learning Technologies, and Susan Thomas, Instructional Designer, are available to meet with faculty who are working to enhance presentations, infuse courses with technology, improve use of existing technologies or take existing courses online.

Course Development

We can assist with developing course materials, such as Blackboard courses, multimedia elements, eLearning units and digital video & audio clips.  The Learning Technologies Team encourages an empowerment approach; our staff and student workers work with faculty and staff clients on how to develop materials for themselves whenever feasible.

Training

Sometimes "group consults" or workshops are better environments for learning new technologies and the skills to use them.  Custom classes can be requested  and workshops are offered throughout the year on a wide variety of topics.
